My Contributions
As UI/UX designer, I conduct all the research & design activities with other engineers, created wireframes, high-fidelity designs, and testing. I created the presentation of visual flow and high-level solutions to adapt our rather small team. I designed platform for both international audiences, multi-language localization.
Why do we need these functions?
As the industry affects by the Covid-19, services provided with one on one contact such as driving instructor is having hard time gaining trust. Since the Corona protocol changed frequently in the Netherlands, the short period of time when market opens is highly precious and urgent.

Problem
↓ When market opens instructors having hard time catching up with protocol since it changes frequently.
↓ Even when market opens, services still need to show that they are following strict protocol which instructor working as an individual having less of an open platform to prove that in an official way.
↓ Parent worrying about kids not knowing what they need to be careful about.

Solution
↑ Clickdrive provides questionnaires for both instructors and students.
↑ To reduce the travel distance for instructors, instructor can set his/her pick-up location.
We research the main protocol Dutch government released while opening the market to understand under the protocol how small business and freelancers provide their services and what is the key points from the protocol. A big challenge for us is we need to communicate also remotely.

Corona Protocol Search
From the newest press conference between Oct-Dec 2020, the market has opened shortly and following by protocols which needed to be done to improve the situation. The key points from the press conference also same time affecting instructors are:1. People should reduce total amount of travel distance2. People should avoid meeting more than two persons (households) per day

Sales Team
Our sales team, the people who are most close to our users: instructors. We arrange a meeting discussing the wording and how we should present the protocol based on instructors business and the responsibilities from both parties (instructors and students) including what we as a platform can provide.

Insight
• Instructors will need to deal with several students per day, on the other side, student only need to face one instructor per day.
• Knowing the situation instructor also worry that they travel through different pick-up locations would expose them in high risk.
• As the students are often underage, instructors should hold responsibilities of maintaining a safe lesson environment.
• Because of restaurants protocol, people are already quite used to fill-in forms.
Our Approach
1. Research
2. Design
3. Testing
Corona Safety Integration consists of 2 parts in total 3 elements.

Self-Health declaration:
• Making sure the instructor knows his/her responsibilities in line with the Corona protocol and registers that they have taken place.
• Making sure the students knows follows the Corona protocol and executes triage before at the start of every lesson.

Reducing travel distance:
• Offering the instructor to decide whether he/she wants to continue to pick up the students at a location they want or that he/she operates with a fixed pickup location.

Our Approach
1. Research & Testing
2. Design
  • Corona Questionnaires
  • Pickup Location setting
3. Testing
Self-health declaration: Corona Questionnaires
We decide to put out questionnaires for both students and instructors. Since currently it is common when visiting shops and restaurants people need to filling the forms. The habit has been established for most people.

Our Challenges
-Forms need to be dense but clear. (A)
-Instructors need to fill in forms repeatedly for each lesson he/she deliver.(A)
-If one of the requirements is not met then the lesson should be cancelled.(A & B)
-The time period and length are tricky to determine since online forms depending on lesson time. (B)
-When forms are common protocol, people tend to skip. What we can control as a platform is limited.(B)

Our Decisions

-Part A: construct content and flow together
________
For student, we describe the condition thoroughly and the interface switch to next page automatically when the answer is selected.
For instructors, we decide to simplify the process by refining the writings and keep all questions in one screen.
To avoid mistakes of clicking, we show a short warning when the answers are selected but are not compliant to Corona protocol.
Our Approach
1. Research & Testing
2. Design
  • Corona Questionnaires
3. Testing
-Part B: backend solution + notification
________
Corona questionnaires are connected to lesson reminder (Notification happens 10 mins before lesson) and lesson checker (Notification happens at the moment lesson ends) as feature trigger. This is the responsibility from our platform to ensure the safety for both instructor and student. The questionnaires will only disappear under two conditions:
1. When the answers are submitted.
2. When the lesson ends.

During this period of time, if the student or instructor has not followed the protocol, the lesson will be cancelled. According to the answers, the payment will determine as it was or a refund.
Our Approach
1. Research & Testing
2. Design
  • Corona Questionnaires
3. Testing
Real app environment: Corona Questionnaires (Student Side)
Reducing travel distance: Pickup Location setting
This feature provides an option for the instructor to decide the site where they want to offer a lesson. The lesson booking process to include pickup location is determined by the student unless the instructor set a fixed site.

Our Challenges
-There is limited screens we can develop according to marketing priority.
-We need to communicate this function to both student and instructor within different process.

Our Decisions
-For instructor: in account making process
________
To implement this function in the instructor register process. Using Google plugin for location picking. Because copy writing on the register process is also quite confusing, I propose reorganizing our UX writing on the instructor register flow in our next sprint task.

Although our account making process is quite time-consuming, our onboarding process for instructor is thoroughly done by our marketing team. We save the developing time by discussing solution and looking for existing resources with Cloudprimero Team. (Thanks Shahood! Like always!)
Our Approach
1. Research & Testing
2. Design
  • Pickup Location Setting
3. Testing
-Student: In booking process
________
When instructor pickup location is on, two part from the student will be affected.
1. When booking the lesson, the student will skip the process of choose pickup location.
2. After booking the lesson, the student cannot change pickup location in lesson detail.
I focus on changing the writing on the existing screen as solution.
Our Approach
1. Research & Testing
2. Design
  • Pickup Location Setting
3. Testing
Due to lockdown our testing is done through distance mostly, physical testing is done following the Corona protocol with scheduling our office and meeting instructors.

Feedback
• The Instructor having trouble knowing how to notify the students about this function due to the fact the instructor has the responsibility of asking the student to answer the questionnaires.
• When a student want to change answers, they wish to find it more easily which answer they need to change.

-Organizing the section from instructor account making screen
-Having push notification button for instructor on his/her questionnaire to remind the student to submit the form. (Notification)-Direct the student to the part where they haven't followed the protocol (Debatable though)
Our Approach
1. Research & Testing
2. Design
    3. Testing
